about

Written by Kate O'Callaghan

A tongue-in-cheek song about the idiosyncrasies of relationships and the little white lies we "spin to avoid'" offending our nearest and dearest.

"Funnily enough, in the recording studio we experimented with lots of instrumentation for this song - exploring the possibility of calypso lilts, caribbean backbeats and samba rhythms - to which the reply was "don't think so" and stripped it right back to the bare bones - one voice and a ukulele - the unadorned truth of the song. (but we do love hamming it up live though!)"

lyrics

He says he's always thinking of you
The world would be an empty place without you
And there's nobody quite like you
He'd give the moon and stars to have you

Do you really think it's true?
Do you really?
Do you really think it's true?
I don't think so, Oh oh oh

She says you're her one and only
So smart, good-looking and so funny
And she loves everything about you
You're the best boy she's ever had

Do you really think it's true?
Do you really?
Do you really think it's true?
I don't think so, Oh oh oh

These are the lies that we spin to avoid going there, oohh…..

She says she was just about to call you, oh yeah
It's ok honey it happens all the time
And he says you're still as lovely as the day he met you, mmm mm
Sure darling, that dress looks fine

Do you really think it's true?
Do you really?
Do you really think it's true?
I don't think so, oh oh oh

Oh no, Oh no I don't think so!
