about

Spoken word excerpt from the Witness Statement (Bureau of Military History) of Catherine Rooney (neé Byrne).

lyrics

I took off my velvet beret and pinned the dispatch inside my thick hair. I pulled the hair up over it, tied it up with a pink ribbon and put on the beret.
